I discovered "The Invisible String" by Patrice Karst when looking for a way to address loss including death, incarceration, deportation, moving, or any other separation. I bought a copy for each of my students in my grief group and created this workbook to guide them through the book and expand on its concepts. This workbook would even be useful at the beginning of the year for young students who are new to being separated from their families for the day.
The 20-page workbook includes a variety of activities, worksheets, art projects, and a meditation. All activities are designed by a licensed clinical social worker to help students work through various types of grief and loss in a way that is appropriate for the classroom, home, or a clinician's office. Students can either be given the entire workbook or a single page and do not need to have read the book to access the content.
