Learning to work and play with others is one of the most important skills our youngest students need to learn. It is important to intentionally work on their social and language skills so that they are able to effectively relate to others in common situations like getting to know a new person, holding a conversation, disagreeing, and navigating conflict.
This four-lesson module designed by a licensed clinical social worker builds all of these competencies while addressing other key skills like listening, waiting your turn, identifying emotions, showing interest in others and more through interactive and fun activities! Each individual 30-minute lesson has a predictable structure including an opening breathing and connection activity, is aligned to Common Core, social studies and social-emotional learning standards, provides opportunities for differentiation, and accomplishes clear skill-based objectives.
The entire module is no prep, is compatible with both in-person and virtual learning, requires minimal materials, and includes all the videos and related resources conveniently linked throughout. Everything is aligned with Conscious Discipline but its use is not required to make use of the curriculum.
