Most of the social emotional learning worksheets I have found are cheesy, boring or confusing unless the student has been pre-taught the concepts. As a licensed clinical social worker, I created these worksheets (and am working on more!) to fill the gap in high-quality and engaging activities grounded in cognitive behavioral therapies. Created for any teacher and not just a licensed clinician like myself, they work embedded in a curriculum or as a one-off activity delivered either digitally or on paper.
Includes five worksheets:
* One word project
* A positive memory in the palm of your hand
* Creating affirmations
* Toot your own horn
* Confidence
These worksheets could be a whole class activity or targeted to a small group or individual student. I have used these as part of a lesson, as an exercise to build classroom culture, as an intervention to build a particular skill, and as a filler activity. Both the one word project and the affirmation activity teach positive self-talk and value-driven living. The positive memory project teaches mindfulness and self-soothing. The confidence worksheet is the most involved, and helps students to reflect and build confidence through positive self-talk. There is also a five-minute confidence worksheet that helps students brainstorm positive things to say to/about themselves.
