Transitions are hard. Students spend so much time in their classroom that it should feel like a second home. That makes it difficult to leave whether that is at the end of the year or due to a move or transfer. This ready-to-use booklet serves two purposes. First, it is a therapeutic support; it guides students in reflecting on their time in your class, helps them feel a sense of closure, and gives them a concrete plan for how to work through challenging feelings related to leaving. Second, it serves as a memento that they can keep and look back fondly on their experience in your class forever. This is great to have on hand for a single student who is leaving or to do as a full class activity at the end of the year.
This is print and go! Simply print, staple or bind each booklet, and pass them out to students. The blank pages are intentional so that the resource can be printed double-sided but students can still cut out the last two activities per the instructions. This booklet may be self-guided or done alongside teacher instruction.
